Sometimes I share recipes over on instagram…I figured what the heck, I might as well pop them up here too!
Oven fries are a favourite here! We eat them a couple times a week and still, the family gets excited every time!
KATES OVEN FRIES-
I get a lot of requests for these so here’s the recipe.
-2 1/2-3 lbs whatever potato variety you have on hand sliced into wedges/French fry-ish shapes. Don’t bother peeling, just a waste of time. This works for sweet potatoes too. Try different varieites for fun and to see how they roast/taste!
-1/4 c lard, olive oil, coconut oil or other high heat oil of choice. Remember healthy fats are good for you! Don’t be scared of them! Your brain needs fat to function! You can go upto 1/3c fat/oil for even crispier better ones here…
-1 1/2 tsp sea salt (or other real salt)
-1 tbsp dry herb of choice. Dill, oregano and thyme being favourites!
Preheat oven to 425F and line a half sheet pan/big cookie sheet with parchment. Don’t skip this. Essential! Toss all ingredients together on the pan. Bake 25 min, stir around, then another 15-20 depending on how your oven cooks/how you like em!
