Most hot apple cider recipes call for long simmering of apple juice and whole spices, but this shortcut in time is no short cut in flavour!

Between you, me and the apple tree, a shot of whiskey in a mug of hot apple cider is an excellent adult upgrade.
Hot Apple Cider
1 litre/1quart apple juice- preferably unfiltered pure apple juice, but use whatever you can get
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cardamom
1/8 tsp powdered ginger
pinch of ground cloves
Heat juice with spices in a pot on medium high, until it starts to steam, then turn down low and let sit for 15 minutes for spices to infuse. Serve and Enjoy!
Bulk Batch Spice Mix-
Because you know I need to save time wherever possible, you can make this spice mix, and use 1/2 tsp spice mix per litre of juice.
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp ground cardamom
1 tbsp powdered ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
To Serve for a Crowd-
Use your instant pot to make this simple to serve to a crowd!
For a 6qt instant pot use 4 litres juice, 2 tsp spice mix.
For an 8 qt instant pot use 6 litres juice, 1 tbsp spice mix.
Heat on sauté until it start to steam, switch to keep warm, and 15 minutes later you’re ready to serve! I leave a ladle in the pot with the lid off, it’ll stay nice and hot on keep warm.
